Look Stylish And Timeless In This Black Dress By Carly Cushnie

New York-based womenswear label, CUSHNIE was a luxury women’s ready-to-wear and bridal brand designed by Carly Cushnie. It recently closed after 12 years of success mainly due to the economic challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. The label established itself in 2008, offering beautifully crafted clothing with sculptural lines.

The CUSHNIE Collection has been worn by the likes of Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Gal Gadot, Lupita Nyong’o, Ava Duvernay, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez, Ashley Graham, and Padma Lakshmi, among many others.

"The woman I design for is inherently confident. She’s multifaceted, she’s sophisticated, and she looks for a certain level of craftsmanship and versatility in her clothing. As I design, I think not only about how a woman is going to look in a garment, but how she’s going to feel in that particular fabric, color or silhouette. My customer’s needs are paramount in every single piece I make, I want her to feel both empowered and at ease in her clothing – to really let her personality shine through." said the British-Jamaican designer 

While it`s sad seeing the fashion house/brand comes to it`s end I wanted to use her work as a foundation for this look. Selected her stunning black silk ruffle sleeve mini dress, featuring a round neck, tulle panels, a fitted silhouette and a straight hem. Paired it up with these black calf leather Pippa sandals from Balmain, which will have you reaching for the stars. And selected this large 1945 bicolour jacquard bag with a monogram pattern and a gold-tone logo plaque to the front. Added these FENTY crystal-embellished hinged hoop earrings that elevate your look with a shimmering finish. Looking glamorous knows no bounds.
