It`s not surprising that Christina Milian is on the list, while she is extremely talented and beautiful she has failed to truly make a impact on the music scene. She was suppose to be on Beyonce`s level as she is the total package that has sadly gone wrong over time, she has signed four record deals so far which have all not done anything for her and now she is with Young Money, wishing things will change this time around but I won`t hold my breathe.
Why can’t she get it right? because she is busy ruining her own career with running around from producer to producer for tracks *fucking for tracks and apparently the wrong tracks*and passing on huge positional hits that singers like Rihanna and Beyonce have gone and topped the charts with. And she lacks alot of drive and charisma because when she dropped her biggest single "Dip It Low" back in 2005, she had everyone`s attention and she didn`t capitalize on it and could`ve had her break breakthrough but she decided to settle with being where she is and her personal life has become the center of attention not her talent.
In 2003 Ashanti was riding high on waves of success as she released her second chart-topping second album "Chapter 2" and went on to win a Grammy award, but a shift started taking place when Beyonce disbanded from Destiny`s Child and pursued a solo career and delivered material that was well received internationally and saw her collecting countless awards. "Dangerously In Love" was a straight R&B album, a lane that Ashanti was demonating at that time: "I didn't like the fact that people always put us together, but it's a competitive business. There's only but one number one spot."
Beyonce proved to be a strong competition as she is a stronger vocalist and a better performer Ashanti decided to switch up her sound on her third album "Concrete Rose" which was more experimental and saw her stepping outside her comfort zone but her core audience was not feeling the new sound at all. It managed to chart at number 7 and then more competition started coming up in the form of Keyshia, Ciara, and even Alicia Keys.
Then she fell out with her label Murder Inc which saw her fourth album "The Declaration" being her last album released on there and the album is honestly an average offering even if “The Way I love You” saw her delivering her best vocals to date. She went on to take a long break from the music industry after it`s release, which was a poor discussion as she hadn`t built a solid audience as she was busy focusing on the competition not perfecting the sound that made people fall in love with her.
Which is no wonder why her newest album "Braveheart" was ignored and failed to generate any type of buzz, the album is her weakest album to date as it failed to showcase what a talented songwriter she is and her vocal growth, she done fell off now and can`t get up.
When Mya sashayed on the music scene singing alongside Dru Hill frontman Sisqó, she was welcomed with open arms - displaying her sultry airy vocals and her tight dance moves, giving us some Janet Jackson tease. Her first three albums were well received but they didn`t quite draw the right among attention to see her raise to the heights of her fellow female performers and vocalists, she just remain in the same spot she has been on since she arrived on the music scene - meaning while her music showcased alot of growth there was a lack of drive to push herself to a higher level and fully arrive on the music scene.
She went on to switch labels which was honestly her worse career decision as everything started going south, her following three albums failed to have any impact and were mostly released in Japan which further dimmed her spotlight and nowadays she booking gigs in strip bars, which is sad as she had so much potential to be someone huge on the music scene.
