Music Throwback: Mariah Carey - 'Vision Of Love'

 Mariah Carey first burst onto the music scene in 1990 with her debut single "Vision of Love" from her self-titled debut album, it went on to top the singles charts in Canada, New Zealand and the United States, where it spent four weeks atop of the chart.

 This song has got to be one of the best debut singles all of time as Mariah shows off her extraordinary vocal range - soulful and powerful. I loved the deep richness in her voice and how she was able to hold a note for what seemed like forever and ever.

  The lyrics are very inspirational, talking about her relationship with God. "Treated me kind, sweet destiny. Carried me through desperation, to the one that was waiting for me. It took so long, still I believed. Somehow the one that I needed, would find me eventually."

  Sidenote: This was also the first time a lot of people had heard a whistle note in a song. She sings four octaves of notes in it.
