British singer-songwriter Marina and the Diamonds is currently working hard in the studio on her long awaited third album which will follow-up to her acclaimed second studio album “Electra Heart“, that was released in 2012.
She has just released the lead single "Froot" which also serves as the title track for the third album which is scheduled to be released on December 12, 2014.
“Froot” is a synthpop number that she produced with David Kosten (who has previously teamed up with Bat for Lashes and Everything Everything), it finds her combining the tongue-in-cheek wordplay that she displayed on her debut album The Family Jewels with Electra Heart's dance production: "Living La Dolce Vita, life couldn't get much sweeter. Don't you give me a reason, that it's not the right season. Babe, I love you a lot, I'll give you all I’ve got. Yeah you know that it's true. I've been saving all my summers for you, I've been saving all my summers for you like Froot...."
"Froot" is a great lead single as it reminds as why we fell in love with her and also shows her displaying alot of growth as artist, it will surely do amazingly well on the radio especially after the positive response from her fans the minute she released it.
