New Music: Vérité - ‘Echo’

After releasing  her superb breakthrough offerings  “Weekend” and “Strange Enough”,  New York singer-songwriter Vérité  has released her  newest single  titled ‘Echo’ which also serves as the title track to her upcoming EP that slated to be released on the October 20th.

‘Echo’ is a drum driven - electropop number produced by producer and drummer Elliot Jacobson and features sweet vocal layers throughout the song, giving it a kaleidoscopic feel which creates a great foundation for her vocals to shine. “‘Echo’ is a moment that summarizes the sentiment of the EP,”“It was an idea Elliot Jacobson and I passed back and forth for a while. One day, we took the initial song, which was more of a flat, traditional pop song arrangement and literally chopped it up and removed all the instrumentation. We built it up from that place which left the vocal raw and exposed for the sentiment to shine through.”

Listen to it below and look out for the EP and check out her tour dates below:

Oct. 21: The Knitting Factory (BMI Showcase)
Oct. 22: Brooklyn Bowl (The Most Definitely Showcase)

Lyrics:
I can hear the echo
ringing in my head
in moments I remember
everything you said

I can hear the echo
ringing in my head
in moments I’ve been dreaming of
all night long

The conversation runs
through the end we’ve always started
I can hear the echo
Ringing in my head
In moments I’ve been dreaming of all night long

No it don’t matter to me
I can hear the echo

I can hear the echo
ringing in my head
in moments I remember
everything you said
I can hear the echo
ringing in my head
in moments I’ve been dreaming of
all night long

The conversation runs
through the end we’ve always started
I can hear the echo
Ringing in my head
In moments I remember
trying to call me back

No it don’t matter to me
I’ll make you believe
I can hear the echo

Now is there a way
some movement I’d make
There’s something to recreate here again
Not something to give
Just something I lost
Where has it gone
Cause I can hear the echo
