Single Review: Jennifer Hudson - 'Dangerous'

Jennifer Hudson is back with her newest single titled "Dangerous" which is available now for purchase in addition to a pre-order for her forthcoming third album "JHUD" set to be released next month on September 23rd via RCA Records. The track follows-up her previously released singles "I Can't Describe (The Way I Feel)", "Walk It Out" and R. Kelly-assisted single "It’s Your World" which have all failed to kick start her new era, mainly because she is aiming above her weight and failing to capture the perfect sound that sees her showcasing herself at her best.

"Dangerous" is just another retro number that finds her singing about going all in for her man  “I do it for the thrill, even if it kills, you make me feel dangerous” it features a solid - infectious production but something about her vocal delivery sounds a little bit uninspiring, boring and disconnected. I don`t see this track doing anything for her at all, it`s nice and all but it`s not single worthy material nor album worthy.

Rating: 2.5/ 5
