Introducing Mylezia King, she is a talented up and coming artist from Wilmington, Delaware. She came on my radar last year when she shared some of her music with me, while I was not impressed with the material her vocals on the other hand had alot of potential, so I gave her some honest feedback and she took it all on board and a year later she showcasing alot of growth which is truly amazing.
She recently released two brand new tracks called “On Purpose” and “Bittersweet”, which allow her to display so much vocal growth and also sees an artist that will inspire and touch people with her music if she continues to go down this path.
“Bittersweet” is a slow-tempo number that was produced by PCBeats and she co-wrote it with Jacki King, finds her singing about being caught up in a bad relationship with a man who embodies some great qualities but he is very unhealthy for her because he treats her badly and struggles with being faithful to her. A subject that most of us have dealt with when you are deeply in someone even though he ain`t good for you but you see much potential in that person but sometimes you need to accept the reality of the matter and let it all go and move on to better and more deserving man.
Mylezia handles this subject with so much maturity and showcases her vocal growth so beautifully as she lays down a solid vocal delivery, especially during the bridge and her harmonies are so sweet.
“On Purpose” is an up-tempo track that was produced by Ben Ford and written by Darren Eugene, it deals with the same subject but differently, Mylezia sings about being an unfaithful girlfriend who goes out of her way to hurt her man because that`s the only way for him to realize that they weren`t meant to be together: "You would`ve never let me go, you kept holding me down when I didn`t want to be under. I had to do something really fast. I know you wouldn`t understand. I couldn`t be the one to love ya. I had to tell you in person, I got caught on purpose."
