The music industry is filled with so many great female vocalist by only a few will rise to a level of greatness and become legendary vocalists. Vaughn has put together a list of female vocalists that are gifted with some of the most powerful, skilled and unique vocals in the music industry. Some of these vocalists on this list might have less success than others but their voices are just as great.

Adele: Her soulful bluesy vocals brings chills up the spine and her delivery will captivate any listener old or young. With her emotive contralto register she is able to show elements of the late great Mahalia Jackson. Overall, she has shown time and time again that your voice is all you need to gain creditability in the music industry "21" is by far the biggest album in this new era of music enough said.


Amy Lee: Her powerful soprano voice is so pure an angelic that is classic in ever way possible. She sings with so much reverence and maintains a haunting sensibility to her voice that will keep playing over and over in your head. Overall, she's has a classic quality about her voice that never ages and she is by far the best female vocalist in rock hands down.


Amy Winehouse: Her unique jazzy contralto voice is just an emotional rollercoaster that will be truly missed in our hearts. She was this small framed woman with such a huge powerful voice with it's own unique tone and for the most part indescribable at times. Overall, she is by far one of the best vocalist to ever come out of the UK R.I.P. Amy <3


Beyoncé: By far she is easily this generation's best performer but she's often not given the credit that she deserves for her soulful powerful vocals. Her mezzo-soprano range spans over more than three octaves she has grown to be one of the most prominent vocalist out now. Overall, her vocals have improved leaps and bounds and she is on the road to becoming the first true legend of this generation.

 

Fantasia: Her strong mezzo-soprano voice put's the G in grit and can send you to church in a heartbeat. She is often called the Patti LaBelle of this generation because she posses her sass and vocal stylings almost to a tea but is often unappreciated because of her troubled past. Overall, she is the best vocalist to come out of American Idol and she is on her way to receiving the respect she deserves after winning her first Grammy with "Bittersweet".


Jazmine Sullivan: Her raspy mezzo-soprano voice has the vocal stylings of some of gospel greats such as Kim Burrell & Karen Clark-Sheard all wrapped in one. Her voice has so much emotion and experience of a woman beyond her years. Overall, she is one of R&B's best vocalist who is on her way to bring heartfelt music back to your airwaves soon.



Joss Stone: Her rich mezzo-soprano voice has the power to bring the house down in so many ways. She is one of the few who has sung with the great Gladys Knight and held her own matching her strong vocals blow for blow. Overall, she will go down as one of the best soul singers who has given some of the best live performances of this new musical era.



Kelly Clarkson: Her powerful robust soprano voice is not anything to be played with in no shape or form. As she has shown in her performances on American Idol that she can sing any genre of music perfectly with her blistering vocals. Overall, she is one of the best singers in pop music and her voice has something that can't be duplicated.




Miranda Lambert: Her powerful alto voice is so raw and passionate that it can bring anyone to tears. She gives her all with every performance even including live instruments that she plays on her own. Overall, she is definitely underrated but I think she may be a contender to be the next COUNTRY QUEEN!!!



P!NK: Her emotional raw powerful alto voice has change the face of pop music. Once upon a time she wasn't put on the same level as Christina & Britney but now she is definitely taking over pop music. Overall, from her fun humor to her honest lyrics she is on her to becoming a pop-rock legend.
