Swedish songstress Tove Lo recently released her debut EP ‘Truth Serum’ via Universal Records, which features 6 tracks including her smash hit single "Habits (Stay High)" which peaked at number 6 on the UK singles chart earlier this year.
The EP as whole documents different stages of a relationship: good times, doubt, breaking up, coping and holding on: "My songs are an opportunity to be honest. I take that to deal with my own issues. There are a lot of ways to blame other people, but it’s always two people in a relationship. I get sick of hearing people going “oh, he or she was such an asshole to me, he cheated on me sixty times”, and you’re like, “well why did you stay?”. The answer is always: “Because I love him.” And, you know, if you love a broken person you’re going to get hurt." she explains.
The 26 year old has just announced "Not On Drugs" will serves as the newest single lifted from the set, which she co-wrote with Alx Reuterskiold and Jerlstrom Soderberg. "Not On Drugs" is a gritty electropop number which finds her confessing her love for her bea with no drugs influencing her : "If love hit you with this much force, you’d probably seem high too. It’s probably better for your health to keep this one on replay, and after hearing it once you won’t complain."
"Not On Drugs" will available to purchase on 31st August, in the meantime you can stream it below.
