I want to introduce a new musical series called "Meltdown Express" which will feature some of the newest music that I think you all will like because if you know my musical taste you`re already know I know my shit, so let`s go.
I want to kick it off with the soulfully talented songstress Avery*Sunshine who recently dropped her newest single titled "Call My Name" which serves as the lead single off her highly anticipated forthcoming album "The SunRoom" which is slated for release on May 27th. "Call My Name" is a soothing - smooth slow tempo ballad that finds her showcasing her slick vocals as she sings to her lover about reconnecting as things between them seems to be strained "When was the last time you heard me call you sweet darling?" she sings.
Love the way she attacks this topic which is very common thing between couples, when people get so caught up with other things in their own life that connect that they share suffers. She addresses it very directly and expresses the need to reconnect and find some understanding.
With the third season of "R&B Divas: Atlanta" in full swing, Keke Wyatt has taken the opportunity to release some new music which comes in form of a sensual R&B number called "Fall In Love" which serves as the lead single lifted from her forthcoming self-titled EP 'Keke' slated for release on 6th May.
"Fall In Love" serves as a great reminder what a talented vocalist Keke as she showcases her vocally so beautifully - displaying alot of passion and heart as she sings about making some sweet love with her man: "Baby put your hands on me, cause I want to feel good...Boy you know my body is calling your name, every night it's something new, your touch is not the same...when we finish making good love, you're gonna fall in love."
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Stacy Barthe has recently released two singles called "War IV Love" and "Extraordinary Love" which both featured on BET`s hit series "Being Mary Jane" starring actress Gabrielle Union. "War IV Love" sees Barthe passionately singing over a production that features elements such as tribal drums and handclaps which all creates a great foundation for her to sings about being a prisoner of emotion enraptured in the trenches of love.
It totally captures the emotional relationship that Gabrielle Union’s character Mary Jane was dealing with perfectly and it`s very relatable as we all desire real love but get caught up in situations that might seem real on the surface but they are just a waste of time and energy but we never see that till later on.
She follows that up with "Extraordinary Love" is which another emotional number that will surely pull on your heartstrings as she sings about star-crossed lovers who come together and make some beautiful love.
The legendary artist Prince recently announced that he has signed a major deal with Warner Bros Records, the same label he famously fell out with nearly 20 years ago which saw him calling himself a slave and a symbol. To celebrate the reunion he went on to release his latest single called "The Breakdown" which I`ve had on replay since it was released because his vocal delivery sounds so freaking amazing, especially when he launches into an emotive falsetto grunt that really sets this song off.
It`s been a hot minute since we heard any new music from Ms. Jaguar Wright but she has just returned on the music scene with a lovely soulful single called "My Choice" that finds her showcasing stellar vocals over a dreamy guitar driven production.
She sings about staying loyal and dedicate to her man despite his shortcomings, the love they share is so pure and real. While there`s no news of a new album this is a great track from one of the most talented and underrated vocalists in the music industry.

I want to close this post with one of my favorite duos, Kindred The Family Soul who keep on blessing us with some great music substance and positivity, as they displayed on their newest single "Everybody's Hustling" which serves as the lead single from their forthcoming album "A Couple Friends" due out 10th June via Shanachie Entertainment and features production work from the likes of Dre & Vidal, James Poyser and others.
"Everybody's Hustling" is a smooth - uplifting mid-tempo number that finds them singing empowering lyrics about pushing forward through the struggles of life and not them drag you down to a level that will limit you from the person you can become , just keep on pushing and stay strong.
Great message.
